The Adelaide Art Directors Club was established in late 1975, to promote and maintain high standards in the fields of South Australian advertising and design.
In August 2004 the club changed its name to the Adelaide Advertising and Design Club, a name which better reflects the areas the club is involved in.
The Club initiates and supports a wide variety of educational programs, exhibitions, publications, and social events, for the betterment of its members, and the communications industry at large.
THE AADC SUB-COMMITTEES:
EDUCATION
The education committee want to inspire people to learn, experience and develop a better understanding of their industry, enabling a plan for their careers.
To inspire our members, we have implemented a range of programs that are accessible to all, regardless of age or employment. These programs have included creative competition, and opportunities to view the best ads from around the world.
We also want to inspire the next generation of AADC members, through ties with all tertiary education institutions, providing graduates and students with a better understanding of our industry. Our industry open days, and mentor program provide a unique starting point for students looking to join the advertising and design industry.
AWARDS
The AADC Awards has a reputation of being one of the best creative awards shows in the country. Each year, the finest work in a variety of categories is judged by a group of respected industry peers and then showcased and awarded on the night.
The awards evening is the highlight of the Adelaide creative industries social calendar, and is the result of the volunteered time and dedication of the AADC awards sub-committee.
EVENTS
The AADC Events Committee is tasked with creating a primarily social calendar of events for the members, supporters and sponsors of the club. Members of the Events Sub dedicate themselves to a committee meeting once a month plus be available to assist with the planning and implementation of various events including staffing those events throughout the year. The majority of these events are held out of office hours.
If you would like to join an AADC Sub Committee, please put your name down at the next AGM (April 2010) or email the club at laila@aadc.com.au
