Clubs unite to form creative powerhouse

11 May 2016

We are proud to announce that the AADC will be joining forces with the SA Branch of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) to ensure South Australia remains at the forefront of creativity across the globe for years to come.

AADC Co-President Josh Welbourn said the Club is committed to providing unique opportunities for growth, development and collaboration to its members.

“ACS members have contributed hugely to the success of our work over the years and hopefully we’ve played a part in their careers too. It’s an exciting collaboration,” Josh said.

“This is the first step in a continuing effort to engage with our industry counterparts to improve the quality of creativity within South Australia and help recognise and celebrate the work of our members globally.

“We have been working to strategically form alliances that will help facilitate collaboration, promote thought leadership and showcase the outstanding work of South Australia’s creative talent,” he said.

Both organisations will Gold Co-Sponsor one another and focus on fostering existing relationships and creating new ones, to show support at both educational and networking events and awards shows.

ACS SA Branch President Ernie Cark said The SA branch of the ACS is excited in forming this collaboration. “We see mutual benefits for both ACS and AADC members,” Ernie said.

“The benefit for members of both organisations are many: reciprocal rights to events, co events and being introduced to a greater pool of creative resources.

“We look forward to seeing AADC members at our screenings / Q&A nights as well as our other informative trade nights,” he said.

Both organisations are not-for-profit and run by leaders in their respective fields; The AADC is the longest running club in Australia and was established to promote and maintain high standards of creativity in South Australia, while the ACS is a national organisation working towards improving the quality and recognition of cinematic art within Australia.

We firmly believe that by joining forces, both clubs will play a pivotal role in the creative collaboration necessary to enable sustainable success for local professionals for years to come.
