Every year, the Jury reviews hundreds of entries across the core categories of Advertising, Design, Craft, For Good and Student.
Their aggregate scores ultimately determine which entries are elevated to Finalist, from which they may go on to be elevated to 'Award'. All entries that reach 'Award' status will further compete for a Chair, as described below.
Award Levels
Finalist
All work deemed worthy of judging for an Award is categorised as Finalist. Making it into the jury selection for Finalist is a significant achievement; the high standards of our Awards means that AADC Finalists represent the top 5% of work in our state.
Award
Entries that achieve high enough aggregate scores are elevated from Finalist to Award status, with Award winning entries each receiving a trophy on the night. Award winning entries represent the most outstanding work in their category.
Chairs
Master’s Chair
Winners of the Craft category are eligible to win the Master’s Chair for best overall entry.
Gold Chair
Winners of the Advertising category are eligible to win the Gold Chair for best overall idea.
Rita Siow Design Chair
Winners of the Design category are eligible to win the Rita Siow Design Chair for best overall entry.
Chair For Good
Winners of the For Good category are eligible to win the Chair For Good for best overall entry.
Student Award Levels
Finalist
All work deemed worthy of judging for an Award is categorised as Finalist and listed as a Finalist by AADC.
Award
Entries that achieve high enough aggregate scores are elevated from Finalist to Award status, with winning entries each receiving a certificate.
Chair
Student of the Year
Awards winners of the Student category are eligible to become Student of the Year for best overall entry.
