Dallas Rodgers, recipient of the Geoff Robertson Memorial Trophy for his winning advertisement at AdMental in 2021, has been accepted into Advertising Council Australia's most acclaimed course for aspiring creatives, AWARD School.
Each year, thousands of students from all around Australia respond to a brief, with only a small number of students accepted in each state. Those students are selected on one thing — the ideas in their application. Raw ideas and determination are the requirements and qualities that are needed to complete the course.
The AADC gifted Dallas entry into the world-recognised course, on the provision that his entry was selected by the AWARD School acceptance panel, and we're pleased to share that he was successful.
AWARD School opens doors to a variety of creative roles in industries including advertising, design, start-ups, product development, public relations, strategic planning, production, experiential, packaging, and media and digital, as examples. In relation to advertising, it prepares you for a role as a copywriter or art director in an advertising agency.
AdMental, now in its fifth year and is an event that asks emerging Advertising Creatives to create an online viral video with a mental health and wellbeing message. Details of this year's event will be released soon, so keep an eye out and we'll see you there.
Since winning AdMental last May, Dallas has completed his Bachelor of Media (major in Social Media and Digital Promotions) at the University of Adelaide and is now enjoying having the time to take a breath. He's working with the Hills Football League and Adelaide Football Leagues again this upcoming season in a variety of roles ranging from camera operation to social media. But his main focus for 2022 is AWARD School, and can't wait to get started.
We wish Dallas all the best, and look forward to hopefully seeing his work up on the wall at the graduation.
