SA’s creative professionals have delivered a clear message in the latest AADC Community Survey: real connection and career development matter most. Conducted by research partner Square Holes, the 2025 snapshot reinforces the Club’s evolving role as a hub for professional growth, collaboration and industry leadership.
Amongst the key results, 75% of respondents cited ‘community and networking’ as the primary reason for joining – underscoring AADC’s reputation as an inclusive home for creatives across agencies, freelance, production, strategy, media and in-house teams. The survey recognises the strength of this broad, supportive network, where connections are genuine and collaboration reigns. You see this community ethos shine through at Crunch and smaller AADC events where competitive morale is left at the door.
The survey also shows 41% of members join for professional development – a number on the increase as the industry adapts to new technologies and media. Members appreciate the high-calibre educational events, workshops and insider knowledge AADC provides; while 45% of respondents indicated they’d love even more personal and professional development opportunities. From short courses to mentoring programs, Adelaide’s creative ecosystem is interested in accessible – and innovative – training that will help both newcomers and seasoned experts stay relevant.
At the same time, the community sees an opportunity for AADC to step up as a stronger advocate for the broader creative communications industry – raising awareness for local talent, building better relationships with government and peak bodies, and providing localised resources.
This latest research is AADC’s first formal feedback initiative since 2020 and the findings show the Club's direction is clearly resonating with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) increase of 36 points. The report highlights strong satisfaction with initiatives like Crunch, Talks, She Creates and the iconic Awards.
71% of members are satisfied with their membership and 83% say they are likely to renew. Members cite ‘excellent value’, ‘great events’ and ‘a thriving community’ amongst their top reasons for satisfaction.
With five decades of community spirit and creativity (of the highest level) behind us, AADC remains proud to champion our members and inspire South Australia’s creative industry. As we celebrate AADC's 50th year these survey insights now set the path for us to provide even more opportunities to connect, grow and lead..
Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey and to our Gold Sponsor, Square Holes, for delivering the insights that will now drive AADC forward.
