Although not moving forward as rapidly as some would like, at least it is moving forward.
The review of government procurement has evolved into two parallel inquiries by the Productivity Commission and the Statutory Authorities Review Committee (SARC).
The SARC report was recently table in State Parliament and makes several recommendations.
Rather than list each of the 17 proposed changes, the Hon. Terry Stephens best captured the essence of the report when he said, “To explain it simply, local businesses that win government supply contracts plough the money directly back into the South Australian economy. Ultimately, taxpayer money support the taxpayers and grows the economy.”
Amen to that.
The Club will continue to keep you informed as the changes take place.
