Meet your new team

4 November 2020

It is with great pleasure and excitement we announce the full line-up of your new AADC Executive Committee.

  • Amanda Gower joins James Rickard as Co-President.
  • Taylor Martin takes on the role of Club Secretary.
  • Your Awards & Events Co-Chairs are Justin Pounsett and Matt McKenzie-Smith.
  • The Co-Chairs of Sponsorship are Dan Demaria and Amy Lambert
  • Your Education Co-Chairs are David Ormston and Sean Timms.
  • Paul Sobolewski is Chair of Communications.
  • And Marty Pepper continues as Treasurer.

As outlined in the President’s Address earlier in the year, while still more needs to be done to address gender balance, it is great to have more women involved in the Executive.

It is also interesting to note, only one member of the new team is from a large advertising agency, which is reflective of the makeup of our diverse and ever-changing industry.

If you’d like to volunteer your support and feel you have the skills and passion best suited to any of the above sub-committees, please either contact or the relevant Co-Chair directly.

If you are unfamiliar with some or all the names above, please take the time to read on and better still, introduce yourself to them at the next AADC function.

Amanda Gower
A proud South Australian with an extensive global career in award-winning agencies such as Wieden + Kennedy, Publicis, Ogilvy and Y&R. Amanda currently heads up Global Creative Services and Production Operations client-side for Schneider Electric. She is passionate about increasing the profile of the Creative and Marketing industry in SA and encouraging more women in leadership, specifically in Creative Services, Operations, Communications, Content and Digital Marketing.

James Rickard
A finished artist turned art director, turned writer and finally creative director, James has extensive experience having worked for large, multinational ad agencies as well as large and small independents. He is passionate about the state and the business of creative communications and is committed to helping the AADC to successfully implement its vision.

Marty Pepper
If dedication to the Club could be measured on a scale of 1-to-10, as Phil Tufnel of Spinal Tap would say, “it goes up to 11”. Aside from being an Executive Director and globally awarded VFX Supervisor, Picture Editor and DI Colourist at KOJO, Marty somehow finds the time to be a driving force behind the Club and has done so for more than 30 years.

Taylor Martin
A talented and ambitious Account Manager at integrated marketing company, Simple, Taylor brings a new level of enthusiasm and energy to the position of Club Secretary. An Award School graduate, she is passionate about the creative industry and excited to be playing an instrumental role in helping the Club deliver its ambitious agenda.

Justin Pounsett
A regular face and voice behind the microphone at most AADC events, Justin is a composer, sound designer, sound engineer, multi-instrumentalist, all-round musical wiz and owner of The Audio Embassy. His enthusiasm for the industry and the Club is infectious and his drive is instrumental to the success and smooth running of Events and Awards.

Matt McKenzie-Smith
Owner and musical guru at Mattrixx Audio, Matt is a composer, audio engineer and proud South Australian committed to raising the standards and profile of the local industry and helping to ensure its diverse and fragmented elements can come together, network and grow.

Dan Demaria
An extensive career in advertising that began in Adelaide with Leo Burnett has taken Dan to Sydney and Hong Kong with companies such as Wunderman, DDB, JWT, BMF and BWM before a switch to ‘client-side’ with Thoroughbred Racing SA. An industry enthusiast and state advocate with an insatiable desire for success, Dan is General Manager, Marketing & Circulation at News Corp.

Amy Lambert
Amy is unique in her breadth of experience having worked directly across every facet of the graphic design and advertising industry from account management to TV producer, graphic design, digital design and analytics. Amy has worked as a graphic designer at Martins; successfully run her own creative business Make Create; held the position as state manager for Adstream; and Senior Producer/Project Manager at KWP! and is currently Operations Manager and Head of Digital at Martins Brand House.

David Ormston
Before Uber made it fashionable to make a little extra on the side, David began his working life as a taxi driver. He is now Associate Creative Director at KWP! and has been the writer and creative mind behind some of South Australia’s best known, most loved and highly awarded advertising campaigns for a raft of clients including RAA, Ultratune, Mitsubishi, SA Tourism Commission, Clipsal 500 and many, many more. David is keen to impart his extensive knowledge and help deliver a much-expanded Education offering to the emerging minds of Adelaide.

Sean Timms
Since the 1980s, Sean has been juggling the parallel careers of songwriter, guitarist and keyboard artist for such groups as Hearts of Fire, Unitopia, Southern Empire and Lather, at the same time as being the owner, composer, musician and sound engineer of Timms Tunes. Along with several of Sean’s audio specialist peers, he continues the to uphold the standards and legacy of industry legend Street Remley and is committed to helping the next generation of creative minds realise their potential.

Paul Sobolewski
Looking after communications for a communications industry body was a little like the proverbial plumber with leaky taps. Until Paul came along. With extensive experience with companies like Imagination and KOJO, Paul has been the tech guru running KOJOs IT for several years and thankfully put his hand up to help the AADC. He is the digital conduit between members, sponsors and the Club, instrumental in upgrading our CRM via TidyHQ as well as implementing and maintaining the AwardForce platform. So, membership, award entries and award judging are part of his portfolio.
