Studio 50 Wrap Up

24 November 2025

Last Thursday, 20 November, the AADC community came together to celebrate 50 years of creative brilliance, industry antics and unforgettable moments. With over 140 people in attendance, including industry legends, hotshots and up-and-comers, guests celebrated the people, the work and the moments that have shaped our industry over the past five decades.

‘Seeing the pioneers of Adelaide Art Directors Club shoulder-to-shoulder with the next generation of Adelaide Advertising Design Club creatives was a reminder of what makes this community special,’ said Co-President, Paul (PK) Kitching.

‘Fifty years in, and the magic is still the people.’

For months, the AADC committee tirelessly collated hours of videos, hundreds of press ads, dozens of stories, interviews and memorabilia, dating back to the 70s, sparking memories for everyone in the room. A TV activation played the state’s most talked about TVCs, and highlighted the names of the people who have shaped our industry; a Mad Men-inspired set was packed with old awards, Direction magazines and relics; plus a five-foot print featured a collection of stories, photos and articles from some of the Club’s most famous events and eras. These were just some of the activations guests enjoyed over canapes, wine and spirits.

Inspired by the iconic spirit of Studio 54, the night was packed with big energy, plenty of nostalgia and a healthy dose of AADC-style mischief. From DJ Driller’s dance floor to the bar, every corner of the venue buzzed with connection, conversation and celebration.

Co-President Sarah Luthaus said ‘Seeing decades of AADC members in one room made one thing clear: this isn’t just a Club with a history, it’s a community with momentum. And, as we have learnt from every AADC event we’ve ever had – we all have something to learn from one another.’

Studio 50 wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our amazing sponsors ARN, Prohibition Liquor Co., South Ave, Your Say Group, Worldwide Norwood, Sundaye, Merlin and Topbunk.

Special thanks also to the crew at Visualizm, Moments of Measure and Big D’Lights for bringing it all together.
