Vale Jeffrey Darling

Jeffrey Darling, the man responsible for countless cinematic masterpieces, has passed away.

Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), Qantas, Coca-Cola, Jaguar and so many other great world brands benefited from Jeffrey’s genius. The view of the world through his lens was unlike any other. He elevated communication to an art form.

For many South Australians of course, his most memorable work was for SATC’s iconic cinema and television commercials, Barossa. Be Consumed and Kangaroo Island. Let yourself go.

His attention to detail and constant crafting of the narrative was writ large in his early preproduction notes as they were in the edit suite. Nothing was left to chance. His calmness and quietness on set belied his passion, intensity and relentless pursuit of perfection.

A wonderful, gentle and generous soul who will be greatly missed.
